Journey to Bedloe's Island

LP's infatuation with the Statue of Liberty runs deep. We can't go near Liberty State Park or drive the Turnpike extension without him erupting with joy at the prospect of seeing Lady Liberty, even from a distance. Today being LP's birthday, we decided to fulfill a longstanding promise to take him to see the Statue up close.

Into the Wild

LP and dad hit up some camping at Bulls Island a couple weeks back. We hunted, gathered, and forged some memories. Take a peek.

I think these kids are feral inhabitants of Bulls Island. They were pretty friendly and docile. LP enjoyed their company.

Seriously, it's not as if I made the kid drink his own urine -- he just doesn't dig on the sweet stuff. Oh well. Our trip was a success despite the marshmallow incident. Bring on K2.

Most Extreme Ice Skating Challenge!!

As you can see, Luca decided to wait for a 60 degree day to attempt ice skating for the first time. He really had a blast (even when falling). Thanks to Caroline for getting him going!
